Jimmy McCune, born near Seattle at the old Fort Lawton Army base, has lived in Washington his entire life. His father was a WWII Army sergeant.
Early in his life, his family faced hard times. Growing up in the projects wasn’t easy, and the absence of his mother made it harder. Nevertheless, Jim was blessed with neighbors and teachers who invested in him, teaching him character qualities and life skills.
Jim believes in giving back to the community that gave so much to him. As evidenced by his body of work as Washington State Representative and Pierce County Councilman, he is a tireless worker for the people he represents.
Councilman McCune will take common sense values to Olympia as your next Senator, fighting for fiscal discipline in state spending and opposing tax increases.
Jim calls Pierce County his home and spends his free time doing projects, participating in community organizations, and visiting with his family and grandchildren.
